The Community Showed Up

As we headed into Give to Lincoln Day, we knew exactly what was at stake. To fully fund the Boundless Play project to Beattie, we still needed approximately $56,000.
It was a big number. But if there is one thing we’ve learned throughout this journey, it’s that the Beattie community is capable of incredible things.
In the weeks leading up to Give to Lincoln Day, our PTO volunteers worked tirelessly to spread the word and raise awareness about the campaign.
We:
Delivered 1,480 flyers door-to-door throughout the Beattie neighborhood.
Convinced our children to wear inflatable dinosaur and emoji costumes so we could create videos built around some truly terrible puns.
Hosted yardside stands selling crafts, baked goods, and lemonade, raising $1,440 for the playground.
Secured daily donations so we would have a chance to receive a $250 Give to Lincoln Day bonus drawing each day.
Every flyer, every video, every stand, and every conversation had one goal: helping people understand what this project would mean for our students and our community.
And it worked.
Going into Give to Lincoln Day, we hoped to raise around $6,000. Given the success of our Boundless Bids auction in April, we thought that would be a great outcome.
Instead, something remarkable happened.
Our Beattie families donated. Their extended families donated. Alumni donated. Current and former teachers donated. Neighbors who simply wanted local children to have a playground donated. Some gave $10. Some gave $100. Some gave even more.
Together, you raised $31,015 through Give to Lincoln Day.
We won’t learn our final share of the event match until next month, but this result exceeded every expectation we had.
And the momentum didn’t stop there.
We currently have approximately $6,500 making its way to us through employer matching programs and an unexpected and incredibly generous $5,000 gift from a community member, delivered directly to the school.
Meanwhile, another exciting milestone has already taken place: The old playground equipment has been completely removed, making room for the new play space.
After months of planning, fundraising, meetings, events, and countless volunteer hours, we can finally look ahead to watching installation progress throughout the summer.
When students return to school this fall, they’ll be welcomed by a brand-new playground designed for all children to play, explore, and belong.
There are not enough words to adequately thank everyone who helped make this possible.
Whether you volunteered, shared a post, attended an event, donated, encouraged us, or simply believed in the vision, you helped move this project forward.
Give to Lincoln Day was an incredible success, and this community showed just how much it believes in creating something special for Beattie students.
Thank you for helping us reach this milestone. We’ll have more updates to share as the project continues to take shape, but today we’re simply celebrating what we accomplished together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
