Boundless Play,
Boundless Impact
Join the Journey to Transform Beattie Elementary
The Beattie PTO is thrilled to announce our Boundless Play, Boundless Impact campaign — a dynamic capital drive to raise $270,000 for new, safer, and accessible playground equipment
at Beattie Elementary. With Lincoln Public Schools contributing $150,000 toward our goal, we’re on a mission to create a vibrant play space where every child can enjoy the joys of outdoor fun.
Why this playground matters
This new playground isn’t just equipment — it’s a community cornerstone. Imagine a space where children come together, a hub of activity that echoes with laughter and joy every day of the week. It’s more than just a place to play; it’s a symbol of Beattie’s vital role in our neighborhood. Without this heartbeat, our community would be missing a piece of its thriving spirit.
Our campaign will run for 18 months, concluding in December 2025, with the goal of installing the new playground by summer 2026.
A playground for everyone
Our vision is big! Picture an expansive, inclusive playground structure with thrilling slides, adventurous bridges, a sun-cover canopy, climbing structures, cozy cocoons, quiet spaces and much more. Every element would be designed with accessibility in mind, including wheelchair access and features for children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. (Did you know closed plastic slides can interfere with cochlear implants?)
All equipment will be built on soft play rubber, ensuring safety and durability. And all equipment will meet current safety standards.
Our commitment to inclusion
At Beattie Elementary, we believe that every child deserves the chance to play, grow, and thrive. This playground will not only promote physical and mental wellness but will also provide essential “brain breaks” during the school day. It’s an investment in our students’ future and the future of our community.
How We’re Making It Happen
To bring this dream to life, we’ve set up two dedicated committees to lead our fundraising efforts. Together, they will streamline requests, ensuring every donation counts toward our $270,000 goal.
Partnership and grants task force
Grants Goal: $76,000
We’re seeking grants that focus on playgrounds, health, community development, inclusive education, accessibility, and sun safety.
Corporate Sponsorships Goal: $50,000
We’re reaching out to local and national businesses that champion community support, health, education, child development, and accessibility.
Community engagement team
Community Campaigns Goal: $20,000
We’re rallying the Indian Village and Country Club neighborhoods, along with all Beattie students and their families. Our outreach will include door-to-door canvassing, engaging everyone in the community.
School Campaigns Goal: $50,000
Proceeds from PTO events, along with surplus funds from our Walk-A-Thon, will be directed toward this campaign. When possible, we’ll invest these funds in CDs to maximize returns through high-interest rates.
Lincoln Public Schools Foundation: $75,000*
We're leaning on Lincoln Public Schools Foundation to help us reach the finish line by tapping Beattie graduates, Lincoln community donors and more. All funds raised through LPS Foundation incure a 6% to 12% fee, thus a higher donation goal to account for base needs.
Fundraising timeline
We've mapped our goals so we know how we're doing throughout this campaign:

-
April 2025: Reach $125,000 (50% of our goal)
-
August 2025: Reach $187,500 (75% of our goal)

-
2026: $420,000
-
2027: $441,000
